Girls' Night Out

Sandra Freji

So all us ladies are going out tonight to see what the night has to offer. I'm expecting some pretty magical shit...it's been ages since I had a ladies night. The only negative spot in the evening's bright shiny-ness is that I have to be at work tomorrow. At 9am. But I'm going to kick ass at work tomorrow. So maybe it's not so bad afterall. I have a good feeling about tonight...

Tomorrow is so Far Away

I just wanted to post this picture because I think it's pretty darn ironic that I'm thinking of paying upwards for $150 for sunglasses I had when I was 5. Also, how am I so pasty AND half mexican? The world may never know...

Don't Mind the Mind

Txema Yeste

This is a pretty accurate representation of how I feel/look today. When I get sick, I tend to run around and be as crazy as I normally am, usually leading to more intense illness but also ensuring that colds/flus/etc are just no big whoop. I've been debilitatingly sick now for 5 whole days. Granted I went to work for 3 of those days but I was miserable. This thing just won't shake. My fever finally broke yesterday but I have this wicked cough that sounds like I've got the black lung. Well I've got news for you, virus, I'm not going to let you ruin my weekend. No way Jose.

P.S. Not having health insurance sucks.

I'm sick of social crazes, show your sharp tipped teeth

At Coachella this weekend, we saw a host of amazing acts. I was pleasantly surprised by Alison Mosshart's stage presence. She was just so rad. Between her and Ida No of Glass Candy, we witnessed some pretty amazing dance skills. Not to mention that Ms. Mosshart oozed rock star ambivalence with her devil may care outfit. Her black saggy diaper butt jeans paired with an oversized t-shirt, ripped cotton button down, ankle boots, and an interesting assortment of silver necklaces was beyond spectacular. I salute you lady. Rock on.

Last Nite I Met A Costume

This past weekend Rae and I went to Coachella and had a great time. Today a friend tipped me off to Style.com's Coachella Street Style coverage and what do you know, the woman who snapped our pictures and asked for some info was working for them!

She got my name wrong (we're not both named Rachel) but whatever! (That's Rachel in white and me in black, fyi.)

This is Not my Beautiful Wife

TheSelby.com

I want to live in this house with this man and have long flowing hair like Sofia. Look at their library. Does one of them have OCD? It's insanity (how I wish to be that crazy). Their house reminds me of a Wes Anderson film.

Amour du Sol

Le Fashion

3 days until Coachella and I'm anxious for the magic that is 100 degree desert weather, 3 days of out of our mind silliness, and, of course, the music. We'll be getting up late to take dips in the pool before grapefruit breakfasts and best friend antics. Just have to get through these 3 more days...

Doomed from the Get Go

Fuck you, Sunday. I'd like to punch your lights out.

Bath Tub Back Rub

I <3 WildFox

Why is it that really ridiculously good looking people always seem to be having way more fun than the rest of us? Like, when was the last time you and your girlfriends got all dressed up to hang out in the bathtub and when you were bored, put on a fake exorcism wearing nothing but hosiery and t-shirts? Wackiness.

Night Owl

Everybody's favorite denim brand, Cheap Monday, released a line of shades! Fucking sick. There are only three shapes, but they are all incredibly chic and at $35 a pop, you can afford to get all of them.

The pairs above are called Night Watch, which sounds like a terrifically cheesy 80's movie or cop show... wait, isn't it? I was engrossed in Australian claymation shows during the late 80's/early 90's, not cop dramas, so yeah.... whatevs, these shades are fucking rad.

Below, we have my personal fave, Night on Earth. Reminds me of (here we go again) that 80's movie "Earth Girls Are Easy"! I can't wait to try them on and see if they're too round for my face because if so.... (scroll down)

... I'm going for these puppies. To make matters worse (worse because I am going to die from the coolness of it all), they named a pair of shades after the hottest Nazi officer/Concentration camp survivor love affair film of all time: Night Porter.

Being that Coachella is in oh, 15 fucking days!, I have been thinking about searching for some new lunettes de soleil and these fit the bill.

p.s. all photos stolen from alterbrooklyn.blogspot.com. holla!

Divinity

Sure, this is primarily a fashion blog, but music and fashion go hand in hand (duh!) And if there is anyone who embodies glamour, it would be Divine. Harris Glenn Milstead was born and raised in a suburb of Baltimore, and was a childhood friend of legendary auteur (and my personal favorite) John Waters. He starred in numerous Waters films, and became known as the (drag)queen of camp.

Today, I literally stumbled across these amazing music videos that Divine made. I haven't thought about Divine in months, or maybe years! Nothing like fabulously ridiculous vids to reignite my passion for her. They're perfect to listen to when you need an energy boost or when you're getting ready to go out. Maybe I'm crazy, but I am definitely inspired by Divine's hotness. (And yes, they all have the same beat.)

The Vaselines covered this next jam, "You Think You're A Man"!

Last is my personal favorite... I even bought the 12" single for this one! Love it!
